The Lenox, Massachusetts area is a center for historical and cultural opportunities. Berkshire Museum

In 1903, Berkshire Museum founder, Zenas Crane, was inspired by such institutions as the American Museum of Natural Science, the Smithsonian, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He wanted to blend the best of these establishments in a new museum for the people of Western Massachusetts. The Museum is located in nearby Pittsfield.

Chesterwood, Daniel French Berkshire Studios

Sculptor of the Lincoln Memorial, the "Minute Man" at Concord, Massachusetts, and many familiar public monuments. This Berkshires treasure is 8 miles from Garden Gables B&B.

Clark Art Institute

Clark Museum is both art museum and research center. Best known, for its extraordinary collection of French Impressionist paintings.  Approximately 25 miles from Garden Gables B&B.

Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art

There's more than just artwork at MASS MoCA. There are artists in residence, a theater, an outdoor cinema and a "kids space." Approximately 28 miles from Garden Gables Inn.

Norman Rockwell Museum

The Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge houses the world's largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art.
The museum is only 5 miles from Garden Gables B&B.

Historical Places of Interest

Arrowhead, Herman Melville Berkshire Home

It was at Arrowhead that Melville wrote his most famous work, Moby-Dick, about 3 miles from Garden Gables B&B.

Hancock Shaker Village

Beautifully restored village, set on 1,200 acres of farm, woodland, and pasture, is home to the premier collection of Shaker buildings. This Berkshire Village is approximately 18 miles from Garden Gables B & B.

The Mount, Edith Wharton's Home
